Dennis Gates lands sixth commit with announcement from JUCO player of the year Sean East

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

In his month at Mizzou, Dennis Gates has received six commitments including landing a point guard one Friday.

Sean East, who earned JUCO Player of the Year Honors at John A. Logan College, announced his commitment to the Tigers Friday.

The 6-foot-3 guard had 20.9 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 5.7 assists per game this past season.

East started his career at UMass before going to Bradley. Before transferring to Logan, East averaged 9.0 points on 42.4 percent shooting.

This is the sixth player to commit to Mizzou under Gates. East joins forward Noah Carter, guard Tre Gomillion, forward Aidan Shaw, forward Mohamed Diarra and guard DeAndre Gholston.
