Mizzou softball falls in series opener to No. 13 Georgia

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Mizzou softball team fell to 4-8 in conference play in a 4-3 loss to No. 13 Georgia on Thursday night.

Casidy Chaumont got the Tigers within just one run of the Bulldogs, courtesy of a solo home run in the the fifth inning. Brooke Wilmes, Kim Wert, and Chaumont all brought runs across home, but it was not enough to keep pace with Georgia.

Laurin Krings was handed the loss in the circle, finishing with seven strikeouts but allowing three earned runs.

Up next - Mizzou will continue the series against No. 13 Georgia on Friday at 12 p.m. at the Mizzou Softball Stadium.
