Mizzou gymnastics falls short of advancing in NCAA Championships

FORT WORTH, Texas. (KMIZ)

The Mizzou gymnastics team's historic season came to a close on Thursday night, as the Tigers finished just short of a final four berth in the NCAA Championships.

In the second semifinal of the day, only the top two teams would move on to the finals. MU put up a score of 197.200, which was just .6375 points short of the second place finisher, Auburn. Mizzou did finish ahead of the reigning national champions, the Michigan Wolverines.

It was just the second time in program history that the Tigers had made it to the NCAA Championships and head coach Shannon Welker has said he feels like this is just the beginning for this team. Mizzou will return every gymnast from the 2022 roster next season.
