Mizzou softball gets midweek win over Kansas City

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Mizzou softball team extended the win streak to four games on Wednesday evening, courtesy of a 5-1 win over the Kansas City Roos.

The Tiger defense shut down Kansas City early and often throughout the match up. Sophomore pitcher Laurin Krings picked up her 12th victory of the season, tossing nine strikeouts and allowing just one run over five innings.

Casidy Chaumont shined on the offensive end for MU. She went 2-for-3 at the plate with two runs, a double, a home run, and two RBI. Wednesday was her 10th multi-hit game of the year.

Up next - Mizzou will make the trip to Starksville, Mississippi to meet the Mississippi State Bulldogs. First pitch in the series is on Friday at 6 p.m.
