Mizzou gymnastics wins final home meet of the season

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Mizzou gymnastics team won one, final home meet on Saturday ahead of the start of SEC Championships on March 19.

The Tigers reached new program heights in the win, as MU put up the best team score in program history. Head coach Shannon Welker's group posted a 197.674 to capture the win over Illinois, Iowa State, and Lindenwood. The previous record was set earlier this season against Florida.

MU dominated on the vault, specifically. Junior Sienna Schreiber, freshman Jocelyn Moore, and freshman Amari Celestine all posted more than a 9.9 in the event.

Up next - Mizzou will head to Birmingham, Ala. to compete in the conference championships.
