Mizzou baseball can’t hang on against No. 25 Gonzaga

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Mizzou baseball team let go of an early lead over No. 25 Gonzaga to fall 10-5 on Wednesday evening. With the loss, MU falls to 9-2 this season.

Left-handed pitcher Nathan Landry threw for three strikeouts over five innings, but gave up three runs. After that, head coach Steve Bieser and company reached deep into the bullpen after reliever Tony Neubeck and Ian Lohse gave up a combined five runs.

Torin Montgomery got the scoring started quickly for MU with a first inning RBI to put the Tigers up 1-0. He finished the day with three hits and one RBI.

Mizzou was supposed to host the Bulldogs in a four-game weekend series, but due to the incoming winter weather in Columbia, those games were canceled.

Up next - the Tigers will stay at Taylor Stadium to host SLU on March 15 at 4 p.m.
