Mizzou offensive line searches for leadership in spring camp

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Following the 2021 season, the Mizzou football team's offensive line lost two of its most experiences leaders in Michael Maietti and Case Cook. Now the line is looking for someone new to fill those shoes.

"It's only four days in right now and that was kind of my voice to the room when we started this thing is that there is no Mike Maietti, there is no Case Cook, so somebody's going to have to try to take this group by the horns," offensive line coach Marcus Johnson said. "You can't be a sometimes guy, it's gotta be day-in and day-out."

Senior lineman Javon Foster said he and the veterans in the room had a conversation about stepping up and being more verbal.

"I'm more of an action leader too, but that's gonna have to change," he said. "I've been trying to work on that every day, being more verbal and more vocal. Let them hear me."
