Mizzou women’s basketball tops No. 15 Florida

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Mizzou women's basketball team got the win it needed over No. 15 Florida on Saturday afternoon, taking down the Gators 78-73. With the win, MU finishes 7-9 in conference play.

The Tigers started slow, but Hayley Frank pumped in some energy near the end of the first half. She scored 10 of her game-high 26 points in just a three minute span to end the second quarter. The junior ended up fouling out with less than four minutes left in the game.

MU led by as many as 14 points with under five minutes to go, however, the Gators stormed back in the final minutes to make it six-point ball game with about one minute left to play. Florida's sophomore forward Jordyn Merritt kept them in the game with 23 points.

Up next - Mizzou will await its opponent for the SEC Tournament, which will start on March 2.
