Mizzou baseball sweeps Louisiana-Monroe
MONROE, La. (KMIZ)
The Mizzou baseball team improved to 6-1 this season, with a 4-2 win over Louisiana-Monroe on Sunday morning. It is the best start the Tigers have had since the 2017 season.
MU was dominant on the bump on Sunday, as sophomore Austin Troesser got his second win in as many starts, tossing for a career-high five innings. Carter Rustad also threw a good game, with three scoreless frames and four strikes, allowing just one hit.
At the plate, Josh Day and Ross Lovich both his solo home runs, hitting them back-to-back for a 3-0 advantage early in the game.
Up next - Mizzou will return home to open up Taylor Stadium in a three-game series against Tarleton State. The first game is on Friday, March 4 at 6 p.m.
