Mizzou softball previews start of the regular season
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
The No. 11 Mizzou softball team will take to the field for the first time in 257 days on Feb. 11, as the Tigers make the trip down to Leesburg, Florida for the Northern Lights Invitational.
Head coach Larissa Anderson and company will open up the season in a matchup against Penn State, but the tournament also includes UConn, Wisconsin, No. 13 Virginia Tech, No. 24 Liberty, and Florida Gulf Coast.
MU will look to follow up a historic 2021 campaign, which included the Mizzou Softball Stadium's first Super Regional since 2016. In that run, the Tigers fell just short of the College World Series in a 2-1 series loss to James Madison University.
The team will return all but one player from that historic 2021 roster for the upcoming season.
