Mid-Missouri football teams compete in state quarterfinals

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Three Mid-Missouri teams competed in state quarterfinal action on Saturday afternoon, with two squads moving forward in the state tournament.

Marceline will head to its second final four in last three years following a 21-20 win over Fayette. The Falcons and the Tigers first met in week four of the regular season, when Marceline rolled over Fayette in a 37-point win. The Falcons managed to make this one a much tighter ball game, as it all came down to a failed two-point conversion at the end.

The Tigers will meet Hayti in the state semifinals on Nov. 17 at 1 p.m.

The Mexico Bulldogs also found success in quarterfinal play. Steve Haag and company captured at 20-7 win over Seneca on the road.

The Bulldogs will face St. Mary's in the semifinals on Nov. 27 at 2 p.m.
