Rock Bridge seniors sign letters of intent

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Five Rock Bridge High School seniors signed their national letters of intent on Thursday, including hoops standout Averi Kroenke who will continue her career at Mizzou.

The guard has been committed to playing for Robin Pingeton since Nov. of 2019, however, she finally put pen to paper in the Bruins' official ceremony.

"It just makes me more excited to start and be there for the next four years," she said.

The Bruins have a tradition of sending players to Mizzou, in fact, former Tigers Lindsey Cunningham and Sophie Cunningham both attended Rock Bridge High School.

"It's just honestly so cool that we kind of have this tradition going where you go from Rock Bridge to Mizzou," Kroenke said. "I'm just so thankful that they kind of paved the way."

Fellow girls basketball standouts Kyrah "KK" Brodie and Christina Maltsberger also signed their letters of intent. Brodie will continue her career at Pepperdine University, while Maltsberger will stay in town and play for Columbia College.

Senior Emma Lea Benney signed her letter of intent to continue her volleyball career at William Jewell College.

Finally, Meghan Thomas will play lacrosse for Rockhurst University next school year.
