Mizzou Homecoming festivities ramp up ahead of Saturday’s game and parade

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Homecoming events are scheduled Friday at the University of Missouri as it welcomes back thousands of graduates for its annual homecoming celebration.

Starting Friday at 10 a.m., alumni can check-in and reconnect ahead of the weekend at the Reynolds Alumni Center.

Businesses throughout Downtown Columbia will be displaying paintings by groups from Mizzou.

Other displays and skits will also be shown at Greek Town on the west side of the school's campus.

The events in Greek Town will kick off Friday at 6 p.m. Food will be available for purchase from local food trucks.

A homecoming spirit rally starting at 8:30 p.m. will cap off the events for Friday.

The event is scheduled to take place at Traditions Plaza. Marching Mizzou and the Golden Girls are both expected to attend.

Mizzou's Homecoming parade is set to start Saturday at 9 a.m.

For those looking to get the best view of the parade on Saturday, the university has the parade's route available to view on their website.

Those unable to attend the parade can watch it on a livestream shared on the university's Facebook page.

The football team will host the University of North Texas at 3 p.m.

Tickets for the football game can be bought from MUTigers.com.
