UM Board of Curators approves contract for new athletic director

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The UM System Board of Curators voted unanimously to approve the contract for Mizzou's new athletic director on Tuesday morning.

Desiree Reed-Francois signed a six-year contract with MU. She'll make $800,000 per year - $550,000 is her base salary and $250,000 is her non-salary compensation for appearances and other marketing activities. Reed-Francois can also make up to $150,000 more per year in incentives.

Reed-Francois will officially begin her role as MU's athletic director on Aug. 15.

The 49-year-old comes to Columbia after spending the last four years at UNLV. You can read more about her move to MU here.

Reed-Francois will be officially introduced at a news conference on Wednesday at 10 a.m.
