LOS ANGELES, Calif. (KMIZ)

Mizzou alum Max Scherzer was a part of a blockbuster deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday afternoon. L.A. acquired both Scherzer and All-Star shortstop Trea Turner in the deal.

In return, Los Angeles will send Washington right-handed pitcher Josiah Gray, catcher Keibert Ruiz, right-handed pitcher Gerrado Carrillo, and outfielder Donovan Casey.

Scherzer, a three-time Cy Young Award winner, has been a Washington National since 2015. Before his time in D.C. he was a part of both the Detroit and Arizona ball clubs.
