Fulton head coach brings it full circle; returns home

FULTON, Mo. (KMIZ)

It is Dana Chambers Jr.'s first summer as Fulton's head football coach, however, the territory itself is pretty familiar.

Chambers Jr. graduated from Fulton High School in 2003 and, back then, he played both linebacker and tight end for the school. Fast forwarding to 2021, Chambers is back where it all started.

He said he heard about the job opening at his son's baseball game and he knew he had to jump on the opportunity and return to his community.

"Coming back home was definitely something that, you know, I enjoy, that I was ready for," he said. "I'm glad I'm here."

Chambers added that his goal for summer practices is to continue to build chemistry with the team.

"We're working hard at our goals, our foundation of the program: pride, accountability, and family. We work that every day. The kids are here, they are working hard, and they are getting better," he said.
