Mizzou Athletics sets up GoFundMe for freshman soccer player

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Mizzou Athletics set up a GoFundMe for freshman soccer player Kyra Reeves on Friday afternoon. This comes after she lost both of her parents to COVID-19 in February.

Reeves' parents died five days apart in their hometown of Austin, Texas, according to a release from MU. Chrisla and Jason were married for 23 years. Jason was a football player at the University of Texas.

The NCAA granted Mizzou permission to promote the GoFundMe page. The family has set a goal of $20,000 to help alleviate the finances for Kyra and her brother Jaylon. Specifically, they hope to pay off the family house.
