Multiple Mizzou baseball players enter transfer portal

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Multiple Mizzou baseball players have entered the transfer portal.

An MU spokesperson confirmed Seth Halvorsen, Cameron Swanger and Jared Simpson all plan on leaving the team.

Seniors Chad McDaniel, Mark Vierling, Jackson Lancaster, Cameron Pferrer, Clayton Peterson and Alex Peterson are all entering the portal as well. They will look to use their extra year of eligibility elsewhere.

The NCAA will implement its 40-man roster limit once again starting in the fall. MU had 55 players on its roster this season, so it's no surprise to see so many players leaving.

The most notable transfer is Seth Halvorsen. The redshirt sophomore started 14 games for the Tigers this past season. He went 4-3 with a 6.00 ERA. Halvorsen had a career-high 10 strikeouts in a win over Texas A&M on April 2.

Mizzou went 15-36 overall and 8-22 in the SEC this past season.
