Mizzou heads to first Super Regional since 2016 in no-hit win over Iowa State

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Mizzou softball team is headed to its first Super Regional since 2016, courtesy of a no-hit win over Iowa State on Sunday.

It was another dominant performance from the Tiger pitching staff, as sophomore Jordan Weber pitched a no-hitter, along with seven strikeouts.

It was Mizzou's first postseason no-hitter since 2011. The Tigers gave up just two hits in three NCAA Regional games. MU outscored its opponents 17-0.

The scoring started early for MU on Sunday, as Brooke Wilmes and Hatti Moore brought runners across home plate in the 5-0 win. Wilmes notched her third home run of the regional and 11th of the season.

Up next - Mizzou will host James Madison University in the Super Regional starting on Friday.
