Mizzou drops match up with Georgia; series heads to rubber match

COLUMBIA, Mo (KMIZ)

The Mizzou baseball team is still vying for the series win over Georgia, after the Bulldogs tied the series in a 7-5 extra innings win on Saturday.

The Tigers got off to a quick start, with a 2-0 lead. However, scoring began in the fourth inning for the Bulldogs and it didn't stop until they took the lead going into the ninth inning.

MU tied things up in the bottom of the ninth inning with two outs, however, did fall short in the 10th and final inning.

Columbia-native Spencer Miles started the outing with three scoreless innings, but did let up three runs. He finished the day with eight strikeouts over about five innings pitched.

Up next - Mizzou and Georgia will compete in the rubber match on Sunday afternoon at 1 P.M.
