Mizzou snaps six-game losing streak

COLUMBIA, Mo (KMIZ)

The Mizzou baseball team took down Georgia, 6-4, in the series opener on Friday evening. The win snapped a six-game losing skid for Steve Bieser's group.

Pitching had been the struggle for the Tigers throughout the season, however, it came together against the Bulldogs. Seth Halvorsen had six strikeouts over seven innings pitched, allowing just one run.

The MU bats started early, as well. Both Cameron Swanger and Battle alum Tre Morris had two-run homers in the early innings of the game.

The Bulldogs did have a late push, with three runs coming in the ninth inning. However, relief pitcher Konnor Ash managed to close out the game.

Up next - Mizzou will host the second game of the series on Saturday at 4:00 P.M. at Taylor Stadium. The group will be looking to clinch the series win.
