Mizzou completes the sweep over Mississippi State on senior day

COLUMBIA, Mo (KMIZ)

The Mizzou softball team captured the series sweep over Mississippi State, in a 6-5 win over the Bulldogs on Sunday.

The Tigers battled for the win, as Mississippi State tied it up at five in the final frames. However, freshman Jenna Laird singled up the middle, which allowed senior Imani Myint to score from second base, giving Mizzou the 6-5 win.

But, there are two senior names missing from that list, Brooke Wilmes and Kim Wert. In the postgame press conference, Anderson announced the pair will be returning for an extra year, due to the extra eligibility COVID-19 gave athletes.
