Boonville wins first-ever state championship

SPRINGFIELD, Mo (KMIZ)

The Boonville girls basketball team won the state championship for the first time in school history on Saturday afternoon.

The Lady Pirates took down Mount Vernon 58-52 to claim the Class 4 title, while finishing the season at 27-2.

Addison Brownfield finished the afternoon with the team-high 19 points. Her teammate, Kourtney Kendrick, was right behind her with 17 points.
