Mizzou WBB prepares for WNIT

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Mizzou women's basketball team is gearing up for its trip to the WNIT. The Tigers will face Fresno State in the first round on Friday at 2 p.m. in Fort Worth, Texas.

Mizzou finished the regular season 9-11 overall and 5-9 in the SEC. The Tigers went one and done in the SEC Tournament - losing to Alabama on March 4.

This is the Tigers eighth postseason appearance in the last nine seasons. MU has been to the WNIT four times during Pingeton's tenure with the program. Mizzou is 5-7 all-time in the WNIT.

Here's more info on this year's WNIT. Mizzou is guaranteed to play at least two games.

The 32-team field will play in four different regions.

  • Memphis, Tenn.
  • Rockford, Ill.
  • Charlotte, N.C.
  • Fort Worth, Texas

Rounds 1-3 will be played March 19-23. The semifinals are on March 26 and the finals will be played on March 28.
