Mizzou baseball splits double-header with Omaha

COLUMBIA, Mo (KMIZ)

The Mizzou baseball team will still have a shot at the series win over Omaha, after splitting the double-header with the Mavericks on Saturday.

The Tigers bounced back after dropping the first game of the day, 17-11.

MU had a one run lead going into the fourth inning, but Omaha's bats lit up, while Mizzou's fell silent. The Tigers struggled until the bottom of the ninth, when they scored six runs.

Mizzou saw a much better pitching performance in the second game of the day, as Seth Halvorsen went lights out, with seven strikeouts over five innings and no earned runs.

Up next - Mizzou will face off with Omaha one last time in search of the series win on Sunday, Feb. 28.
