Mizzou adds another NFL veteran to defensive staff

COLUMBIA, Mo (KMIZ)

Mizzou head coach Eli Drinkwitz officially added another NFL veteran to his defensive staff on Thursday, hiring Jethro Franklin as the new defensive line coach.

Franklin comes to Columbia with 29 years of coaching expereince, including 13 years in the NFL.

Most recently, he was an assistant defensive line coach with the Seattle Seahawks, but has also worked in Oakland, Miami, Tampa Bay, Green Bay, and Houston.

"Jethro Franklin will be a valuable addition to our football program," Drinkwitz said in a statement. "His expertise at both the NFL and collegiate levels will be invaluable on the recruiting trail and in the development of our defensive line."

With the hiring of Franklin, Drinkwitz's staff is filled out after losing both defensive coordinator Ryan Walters and former defensive line coach Brick Haley.
