Week 10 preview: Vanderbilt at Mizzou
COLUMBIA, Mo (KMIZ)
The Mizzou football team will play its rescheduled matchup with Vanderbilt on Saturday at Faurot Field at 11:00 A.M.
The Tigers are coming off of a 17-10 win over South Carolina in the previous week.
After the win, head coach Eli Drinkwitz said he was going to reevaluate his play calling. In the second half, the offense stalled out, as the Tigers mostly stuck to the ground. Larry Rountree III had 21 carries, but only 56 yards on the night.
However, getting things going on offense may not be a problem against the Vanderbilt Commodores. The defense is allowing 36.4 points per game.
There could also be history made at Faurot Field on Saturday. The Vanderbilt Commodores recruited Vanderbilt soccer standout Sarah Fuller as a place kicker.
If the sophomore soccer player goes into the game she would be the first woman to play football in a Power-5 matchup.
She did travel to Missouri with the Commodores on Friday.

Andrew's pick:
Vanderbilt: 14 | Mizzou: 38
"Vanderbilt has given up 35+ points in five of its seven games this season, so I’m confident Mizzou is going to be able to move the ball on offense. This is the perfect opportunity for Connor Bazelak to get back on track after a few mediocre performances. As always - MU needs to control the game on the ground with Larry Rountree. I expect another strong showing from the all-time leading rusher (for a running back) in Mizzou history. I don’t expect the Commodores to present too much of a challenge for the Mizzou defense. Nick Bolton is about to feast on the Vandy offense. With all of that said - Derek Mason has a way of motivating his players, so Mizzou better not overlook the 0-7 Commodores. I’m sure everyone remembers last year’s 21-14 loss. In 2020 - anything can happen!"
Nathalie's pick:
Vanderbilt: 21 | Mizzou: 38
"I think Mizzou should take this one pretty easily, but you guys are probably questioning my prediction of 21 points from Vanderbilt. Well, Mizzou does have a handful of guys questionable for Saturday, especially on the defensive end of the ball. With a Commodore defense that allows more than 35 points per game, it's not too much of a stretch to say this is going to be an offensive matchup. But if you're looking for defense, well, you know that Nick Bolton is going to be all over that.
This is a chance for Connor Bazelak to get some good numbers in. In the past few outings, he's been solid, but has not recreated an LSU performance yet. Vanderbilt's weakness all year long has been the pass, so I definitely see Eli Drinkwitz taking advantage of that, maybe getting a little creative with Bazelak, as well. Overall, Missouri is the better football team this season, from top to bottom, however, it is 2020. I'm not going to look past this one, just as the Tigers shouldn't either."
