Helias football moves on to the state championship

SMITHVILLE, Mo (KMIZ)

The Helias Crusaders will look to win their first championship since 1998, as they defeated Smithton in the state semifinal on Friday night.

The three-point win was arguably the Crusaders closest win of the season.

With the game winding down, senior Alex Clement punched it up the middle for a touchdown and the team's first lead of the game.

Helias took down Smithville 13-10 and will meet the winner of the MICDS vs. Union game on December 4.
