Mizzou football to play Vanderbilt this weekend after Arkansas game postponed due to COVID-19 concerns
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
The Mizzou football team will now play Vanderbilt on Saturday at 11 a.m. due to COVID-19 concerns at Arkansas.
The Tigers were originally supposed to play the Razorbacks this weekend, but the SEC postponed the Battle Line Rivalry Game due to positive COVID-19 tests at Arkansas.
"As we continue to adapt to the current realities, it important to remain flexible as we move forward in the final weeks of the season," SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey said in a statement. "Contact tracing continues to be the biggest contributing factor to game interruptions. We will continue to manage the remaining weeks of the football schedule to allow for as many games to be played as possible."
Mizzou was originally supposed to play Vanderbilt on Oct. 17, but that game was postponed due to COVID-19 concerns with the Commodores.
The SEC said it will look to reschedule Mizzou's game against Arkansas, but it's not clear when that will be decided.
Mizzou football coach Eli Drinkwitz is scheduled to meet with the media for his weekly news conference on Tuesday at noon.
