COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

You can watch the full interview in the video player above.

Sterk said he's confident Mizzou will play at South Carolina on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. MU has not played a game since Oct. 31 due to a bye week and the Tigers' postponed game against Georgia.

Sterk said there were one or two positive COVID-19 tests last week, but the Tigers were still unable to play against the Bulldogs.

"It was a combination of issues that led to our postponement," Sterk said. "It wasn't like an overabundance of positive cases or COVID-related issues. It's from opt-outs or tracing."

Sterk added there have been a number of injuries as well, but he expects a lot of players to be back this week.

"I think all of those should be a heck of a lot better for this coming weekend at South Carolina," Sterk said.

Sterk added Mizzou's game against Georgia could be moved to Dec. 19, but that's only if the Bulldogs are eliminated from SEC title contention. The conference championship is also scheduled for Dec. 19.

After the South Carolina game, Sterk said MU's schedule could be changed on a week-to-week basis. If MU misses any other games this season, Sterk said they will not be made up.

In basketball news - Sterk said Mizzou Arena will look a lot different this year. There will be no courtside seats, and the away team's bench will be on the opposite side of the court. Sterk said there will likely be about 3,000 fans allowed inside Mizzou Arena.

Sterk said no student-athletes have been hospitalized due to COVID-19 concerns. He also said there have been no signs of any spread of the virus between fans at an MU sporting event so far this fall.
