Tolton wins its first state championship

SPRINGFIELD, Mo (KMIZ)

The Tolton Trailblazers became the second Columbia high school to win a state championship in softball on Saturday.

Tolton took down the Penney Hornets, 4-1.

Trailblazer standout Paige Bedsworth struck out 16 batters in the championship win.

Tolton is the third Mid-Missouri school to win a state championship this year. Vienna won the Class 1 state championship on Saturday morning, and Rock Bridge won the Class 5 state championship on Friday.
