Championship softball postponed due to field conditions

SPRINGFIELD, Mo (KMIZ)

The Tolton and Rock Bridge softball teams will have to wait until the weekend for their shot at a state championship.

Both teams were originally slated to play on Thursday, however, on Wednesday the Missouri State High School Activities Association said that both game were postponed due to inclement field conditions.

Rock Bridge will now meet Lee's Summit North on Friday at 2 P.M.

Meanwhile, Father Tolton will head to Springfield one day later, on Saturday, to meet Penney at 3 P.M.

If either Tolton or Rock Bridge softball wins their game, it will be the first time a Columbia school has won a state championship in softball.
