Mizzou will host TCU in 2021 SEC/Big 12 Challenge

COLUMBIA, Mo (KMIZ)

The SEC/Big 12 Challenge will come to Mizzou Arena for the second time, as MU is set to host TCU on January 30.

Although the programs have meet before, it will be the first Mizzou has met TCU since 1952. Currently, the Tigers lead the series 4-1, after matchups in 1946-1952.

The last time Mizzou won the SEC/Big 12 challenge was back in 2013, when Jordan Clarkson ended on a game-high of 25 points over West Virginia.

In the following years, Missouri lost to Oklahoma in 2014 and lost, again, to West Virginia in 2019.

Most schools in the SEC are included in the challenge, except for: Vanderbilt, Mississippi, Georgia, and South Carolina.

The conferences released a full list of matchups on Wednesday:

  • Alabama at Oklahoma
  • Arkansas at Oklahoma State
  • Auburn at Baylor
  • Florida at West Virginia
  • Texas at Kentucky
  • Texas Tech at LSU
  • Iowa State at Mississippi State
  • TCU at Missouri
  • Kansas at Tennessee
  • Texas A&M at Kansas State

In 2020 both conference shared the challenge title, as they shared five wins apiece. Over the past four years, both the Big 12 and the SEC have won 20 games.

MU Athletics said it will release the remainder of the 2020-2021 basketball schedule in the coming months.
