Tolton claims a district championship in walkoff fashion

MOKANE, Mo (KMIZ)

The Tolton Trailblazers will continue further into playoffs, following a dramatic, 11-inning win over the Russellville Indians on Saturday.

The Trailblazers led by two runs the majority of the game, but the momentum shifted in the 7th inning when the Indians tied it up at three apiece, off of a Cali Coombs base hit.

Tolton pitcher Paige Bedsworth shined into extra innings. She finished the day with 21 strikeouts, which puts her just 13 away from the Missouri record.

In the 11th inning, Tolton's Emilee Farnan iced this one in style. She knocked out a walkoff home run, the first homer of her career, to ice the game.

Tolton will move on to meet Elsberry in the Class 2 quarterfinals on October 21.
