MSHSAA announces changes to postseason softball and boys soccer

Andrew Kauffman

COLUMBIA, Mo (KMIZ)

The Missouri State High School Athletics Association made changes to the postseason for softball and boys soccer on Thursday.

Due to COVID-19, the association said there are travel and venue concerns.

The semifinal rounds for fall softball will now be hosted by a member school, with classes two through five playing on October 24 and class one on October 27.

All five championship games will be held at the Killian Softball Complex in Springfield, Missouri on October 29-31.

MSHSAA said third-place games will not be played.

As for boys soccer, classes three and four now have less time to complete district tournaments, happening from October 31 to November 4.

The championship games will be played on November 20 and 21, but the association said the location of those games is still being worked out.

Similarly, third-place games will not be played for boys soccer.
