Gary Pinkel placed on College Football Hall of Fame ballot

Former Mizzou football coach Gary Pinkel is on the 2021 National Football Foundation College Football Hall of Fame ballot.

Pinkel is one of seven coaches on this year's ballot, which also includes Oklahoma's Bob Stoops.

Pinkel is the winningest coach in Mizzou and Toledo football history. He won 191 games in 25 years as a head coach.

The 68-year-old retired from MU after the 2015 season. He finished with a record of 118-73 during his time in Columbia. Pinkel led the Tigers to back-to-back SEC Championship games in 2013 and 2014.

The 2021 class will be announced early next year, and the induction ceremony will be held on Dec. 7, 2021 in New York.
