Cardinals draft Mizzou pitcher in 4th round

The St. Louis Cardinals drafted Mizzou pitcher Ian Bedell in the 4th round of the MLB Draft with the 122nd overall pick.

Bedell had his junior season cut short due to COVID-19. In four starts (24.1 innings), he gave up just 10 runs and had 35 strikeouts. His ERA was 3.00.

The Davenport, Iowa native told MLB.com beat writer Anne Rogers he'll forego his remaining eligibility with MU and sign with St. Louis.

Bedell was expected to be one of the best pitchers in the SEC this past season. Perfect Game/Rawlings and D1 Baseball both tabbed Bedell with preseason All-American honors.
