Mizzou senior standout weighs return for extra year of eligibility

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Mizzou baseball standout Peter Zimmermann is still weighing his options on whether or not to return to school for his extra year of eligibility.

The St. Louis native had his senior season cut short due to concerns surrounding COVID-19. However, the NCAA recently granted spring sports student-athletes an extra year of eligibility.

ABC 17 Sports Director Andrew Kauffman spoke with Zimmermann via Zoom, and you can watch the interview in the video player above.

"With the NCAA's announcement - at least for me - I kind of have two very solid options," Zimmermann said.

Zimmermann said he will either go pro or come back for a final season at Mizzou.

For now, Zimmermann is living in Columbia. He said he's unable to practice, but he is still working out at home.
