Former Mizzou defensive lineman Aldon Smith returns to NFL

According to Jay Glazer with FOX Sports, former Mizzou defensive lineman Aldon Smith signed with the Dallas Cowboys to a one-year deal.

The deal is worth $2 million dollars guaranteed with the opportunity to earn an additional $2 million dollars in incentives.

Smith has not played in the NFL since 2015 due to multiple arrests including drug charges and a false bomb threat at an airport. Smith can not play until Commissioner Roger Goodell reinstates him into the league.

Smith has played in five seasons after getting drafted by the San Franciscso 49ers seventh overall in the 2011 NFL Draft.

Smith played for the Tigers in 2009 and 2010. Smith had 14.5 sacks over two seasons with Mizzou.
