Mizzou hoops comes up just short on the road

BATON ROUGE, La. (KMIZ)

The Mizzou basketball team could not hang on to its second half lead on Tuesday against No. 25 LSU. MU lost 82-78 to fall to 11-13 overall and 3-8 in the SEC.

MU led by as many as 12 points in the first half. The Tigers had a 43-37 lead at halftime. MU was up by eight points with 9:57 to go in the game. LSU outscored MU 26-14 to close the game.

Dru Smith led the Tigers with 20 points and five rebounds. MU big man Reed Nikko had 13 points and eight rebounds. Xavier Pinson finished with nine points, seven assists and three rebounds.

Up next - MU will host No. 11 Auburn on Saturday at 5 p.m.
