Mizzou football signs part of 2020 class

The Mizzou football team has announced several signees on Wednesday. We will continue to update this story as MU makes things official.

  • DB Jaylon (JC) Carlies: 6'2", 193 lbs from Winter Garden, Fla. (West Orange HS)
  • K Harrison Mevis: 6'0", 200 lbs from Warsaw, Ind. (Warsaw Community HS)
  • OL Drake Heismeyer: 6'3", 283 lbs from St. Charles, Mo. (Francis Howell HS)
  • LB Will Norris: 6'2", 220 lbs from Columbia, Mo. (Rock Bridge HS)
  • DB Tyler Jones, 5'10", 185 lbs from Winter Garden, Fla. (West Orange HS)
  • WR Javian (JJ) Hester: 6'3", 190 lbs from Tulsa, Okla. (Booker T. Washington HS)
  • QB Brady Cook: 6'3", 210 lbs from St. Louis, Mo. (Chaminade)
  • RB Elijah Young: 5'9", 175 lbs from Knoxville, Tenn. (South Doyle HS)
  • WR Jay Maclin: 5'11", 178 lbs from St. Louis, Mo. (Kirkwood HS)
  • OL Mitchell Walters: 6'8", 290 lbs from St. Louis, Mo. (Mehlville HS)

In a surprising move, former Mizzou commitment Dominique Johnson threw off his MU hat and unzipped an Arkansas shirt at his signing ceremony. He'll play for the Razorbacks. Offensive lineman Ray Curry also flipped his commitment from Mizzou and signed with Arkansas.

Both Young and Hester tentatively opened back up their recruiting after Barry Odom's firing. Getting both back on board was a key piece of Drinkwitz's efforts in the early signing day period.
