Grocery stores in Columbia brace for COVID-19 impact

Target Rationing

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Target is one of many chain grocery stores making adjustments during the coronavirus pandemic.

Officials at many stores in Columbia said although they found themselves with empty shelves amid the COVID-19 scare, they are getting daily shipments.

Target started to ration its cleaning supplies, allowing customers to purchase only one of each product such as disinfectant wipes.

Wal-Mart, meanwhile, is changing its store hours starting Sunday. The grocery stores will be open from 6 a.m. through 11 p.m. each day, unlike its previous 24-hour schedule.
