MEC report shows Elwood nets $13,428; Rice gets $4,690 in Columbia Ward 2 race
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
The quarterly report filing for the Missouri Ethics Commission shows a few high-dollar donations being made in Columbia’s Ward 2 race.
Campaigns for Vera Elwood and Ken Rice submitted reports for the July 15 quarterly filing. Rice’s was submitted on July 10, while Elwood’s was submitted on July 14.
Documents show that Elwood’s campaign has garnered $13,428.79 and has $10,200.72 on hand. Some of the larger donations to her campaign include $2,500 from Missouri and Kansas Laborers PAC, $1,500 from the 955 PAC and $1,000 from Columbia Professional Fire.
LiUNA Local 955 and the Columbia Professional Firefighters’ union had both endorsed Elwood in June, along with Boone County Democrats. The firefighters union had withheld its endorsement from all candidates during this past spring’s elections.
Rice’s campaign has tallied $4,690 this election cycle and has $3,132.61 on hand. The campaign’s largest donation was $2,500 from Citizen For a Safe Columbia.
The eight-day-before-the-election report is due on July 24. Election Day is Aug 5.
All donations for both candidates can be viewed in the documents below.
