Polling place in west Columbia moved for April 8 election
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Some people who vote in west Columbia will have to go to a new location on Election Day.
The Boone County Clerk’s Office on Wednesday wrote on its social media that people who typically vote at Fairview Road Church of Christ will have to vote at Broadway Christian Church on April 8.
The Clerk’s Office wrote that Fairview Road Church of Christ – located at Fairview and Kunlun Drive – is not available as a polling place on that day. Broadway Christian Church is located on Broadway, just east of Fairview.
The Clerk’s Office also wrote that Centralia voters will vote at Centralia City Hall and Hallsville voters will be at the Hallsville Community Center. Sample ballots with polling place information will be mailed and emailed at the beginning of March, the post says.
Voters can also look up their polling place on the county’s website.
The April 8 election will feature races for spots on the Columbia City Council, including mayor and Wards 3 and 4.
Jacque Sample is the only person who filed to run in the Ward 3 race. Ron Graves and incumbent Nick Foster face off in the Ward 4 race; while the mayoral race includes incumbent Barbara Buffaloe, Tanya Heath, Blair Murphy and certified write-in candidate Lucio Bitoy.
Three candidates are running for the two available seats on the Columbia Board of Education: Erica Dickson, Ken Rice and Board President Suzette Waters.
