Democratic candidate wants to ‘make sure Columbia stays blue’
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
A Columbia nurse and union member says he's running for Missouri's 50th House District to make sure it stays in Democratic hands.
Gregg Bush said Wednesday in a statement on social media that he is running for the Democratic nomination next August in the district that covers much of south Columbia. He has earned the endorsement of incumbent Democrat Doug Mann, who said in October that he will not seek a second term, citing mental health issues.
Bush asked in his announcement for support to "make sure this seat stays in safe hands."
We will need all the support we can get to make sure this seat stays in safe hands.

Mann won the 2022 race over Republican James Musgraves by a large margin after districts were redrawn based on the 2020 census.
Mann is the only candidate with an active campaign finance committee in the 50th District, according to Missouri Ethics Commission records. Filing for the August 2024 election begins in February.
