Turner announces bid for Boone County southern district commissioner

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Sam Turner announced his bid for Boone County southern district commissioner in a Tuesday press release.

Turner is filing as a Republican, according to the release and the Missouri Ethics Commission. The seat is currently held by Democrat Justin Aldred, who announced his reelection bid in September.

Turner -- who owns Turner Ag Solutions – states that he is a conservative, and looks to focus on “keeping living costs low,” improving infrastructure and supporting family farms. The release states he supports freezing property taxes for seniors.

According to the release, Turner is a  Boone County Farm Bureau board member and a member of the Pachyderm club. The release also states that he is a Southern Boone YMCA board member and works with his local FFA chapter

He also serves as a board member of the Southern Boone YMCA and regularly works with the local FFA chapter, according to the release.
