Multiple candidate forums being held ahead of April 6 election
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Multiple candidate forums are scheduled to be held this week in Jefferson City and Columbia.
The municipal election is scheduled for April 6.
Candidates in Columbia are running to fill city council, school board and a state House seat.
The Mid-Missouri Civil Liberties Association planned three such events through Thursday. Each forum starts at 6 p.m. and will be held virtually on Zoom.
Monday night's forum will include candidates vying for Columbia City Council's second and sixth wards. On Wednesday, the Democratic and Libertarian candidate running for Missouri's 45th House district will square off. And on Thursday, Columbia School Board candidates will debate.
In Jefferson City, the American Legion is hosting a forum for city council candidates Tuesday night. The event starts at 6 p.m. and will be held at the post on 1423 Tanner Bridge Rd.
A release from the American Legion said the event is free and open to the public.
