COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Mike Johnson (R-Louisiana) was picked as the next Speaker of the House of Representatives on Wednesday. He takes the position after Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-California) was ousted from the position more than three weeks ago.

Most of Missouri's representatives showed support for the new speaker.
