QUESTION OF THE DAY: Should Parson visit the Texas border with Mexico?
Missouri Gov. Mike Parson's office said Monday that he will make a trip to the Texas-Mexico border this week.
The governor has already committed Missouri National Guard troops and state highway patrol troopers to help with Texas Gov. Greg Abbott's Operation Lone Star, which is meant to help stanch the flow of illegal immigration over the border with Mexico.
Parson argues it's a good use of state resources because illegal immigration is an every-state issue. Critics say Missouri sees little benefit from getting into a border-state issue.
