Missouri Lt. Gov. Kehoe announces 2024 gubernatorial run
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)
Lt. Gov. Mike Kehoe has officially announced his candidacy to be the next governor of Missouri Tuesday afternoon.
Kehoe is the only announced candidate for the position.
In Nov. 2020 Kehoe was elected as Missouri’s 48th Lieutenant Governor after being appointed to the position in 2018 after then Gov. Eric Greitens resigned and Lt. Gov. Parson took over.
In March 2021, Kehoe announced he would not seek to replace retiring Sen. Roy Blunt in 2022 but would instead run for governor in 2024 according to the Associated Press.
Kehoe says he says received support from multiple groups across the state including first responders and agriculture groups.
Gov. Parson announced in 2020 that year's election was his last.
